Carpet Repair & Stretching
Fix ripples, loose edges, seam separation, and small damage without replacing the entire carpet. Faster and more affordable than full replacement.
When Repair Is the Right Call
Carpet that ripples, buckles, or feels loose underfoot does not always need to be replaced. In most cases, re-stretching the carpet using professional power-stretching tools brings it back flat and tight. The result looks like new carpet without the cost of replacement.
The same applies to small areas of damage — cuts, burns, pet damage, or stains in a limited section. With the right technique and donor carpet from a hidden area like inside a closet, small repairs can be nearly invisible.
Types of Repairs We Do
- Re-stretching — power-stretching loose or rippling carpet back to a tight, flat surface
- Seam repair — re-bonding seams that have separated or are visible
- Patch repair — cutting out damaged areas and patching with matching carpet
- Edge repair — re-securing carpet that has come loose from tack strips at walls or thresholds
- Transition repair — fixing carpet-to-floor transition strips at doorways
- Pet damage repair — patching areas where pets have clawed or worn through the surface
What Causes Carpet to Loosen or Ripple
- Original installation was not power-stretched properly
- Heavy furniture moved repeatedly across the surface
- Humidity changes causing the backing to expand and contract
- Padding that has broken down over time
- Tack strips that have come loose from the subfloor
Repair vs. Replacement
We will give you an honest assessment during the estimate. If your carpet is structurally sound and the damage is limited, repair is almost always the better value. If the carpet itself is worn out, we will tell you that and give you a replacement quote instead.
