The Challenge with Basements

Basements are below grade, which means they are more susceptible to moisture than upper floors. Installing the wrong type of carpet or padding in a basement that has any moisture activity can lead to mold, odors, and premature carpet failure.

We assess your basement before recommending materials. If there are any signs of moisture infiltration, we address that concern before proceeding. We do not install carpet in a space that is not ready for it.

What We Do

For basements that are dry and properly conditioned, we install carpet that is appropriate for below-grade use. This typically means selecting materials with moisture-resistant backing and using the right type of padding or a direct-glue installation method depending on the specific conditions.

Concrete subfloors are common in basements and require different preparation than wood subfloors upstairs. We clean, level, and prepare the concrete surface before installation begins.
